| We decided to head down the road a short bit for dinner. As you head east, you pass the massive Tulelake Cold Storage Company. |

Further down the road is the imposing elevator of Newell Growers. | |
| Just a few miles down the road is Captain Jack's Stronghold. We enjoy this restaurant for its food, and its garden out back. We sat out back and watched the sunset as we ate. The restaurant is named for the nearby Modoc War site. |
